In the early years, we used the science format laid out in The Well-Trained Mind - focusing on one topic each year. It worked well in those elementary years - giving TJ a look at the different scientific topics. During the early middle school years, I decided to make a big change and we focused on interest led learning instead.
ELEMENTARY SCIENCE LESSON PLANS
I created our own lesson plans in these early years. We covered basic biology in first grade, earth & space in second grade, chemistry in third grade, and physics in fourth grade.
