Recipe Box Swap: Apple Cranberry Crisp

I thought since it is so close to Thanksgiving and everyone is starting to get prepared I would share a recipe I love to make during this holiday season. This is one of my favorites for Thanksgiving -

Apple Cranberry Crisp

1 ½ cups quick oats

½ cup brown sugar

1/3 cup flour

1 tsp ground cinnamon

1/3 cup butter, melted

1 16 oz whole berry cranberry sauce

2 Tbsp cornstarch

4 cups chopped apples

First thing - preheat your oven to 375. Then mix the oats, brown sugar, flour, and cinnamon together then add the butter and a tablespoon of water and mix until well incorporated. In a saucepan bring the cranberry sauce and cornstarch to a boil then remove from heat and add the apples.

Put the apple-cranberry mixture into 6 well-greased ramekins or an 8x8 baking dish and crumble the oat mixture over the top. Bake 35 minutes or until apples are tender and top is browned. Great with a spoonful of whipped cream or ice cream.
