I love making quick and easy no bake recipes. They come together so quickly, perhaps with a bit of stove-top cooking. But there's no need to use an oven - making it perfect for those hot summer months. The most you might need is to include a little time for your recipe to sit in the refrigerator (and that's really no work at all!).
As my daughter gets older she wants to help out in the kitchen more often. I love having her help out and easy no bake recipes are the perfect thing for kids who want to start cooking. And rice krispie treats are so simple to make - there's barely any supervision involved.
And because this is such an easy recipe - there are so many varieties and ways to change up the usual treats. Dip them in chocolate, switch out the cereal for another kind, add some peanut butter - there are really endless ways to dress up this easy recipe!
Now that Valentine's Day is just around the corner we decided to make a special treat for some friends and family - Valentine's Day Rice Krispie Treats.

Many of these recipes only require a microwave so kids can help make some simple no bake Christmas sweets and treats too. They can make treats for the family or package them in pretty boxes and tins for holiday gifts. Even young children can make homemade gifts to give others with these simple recipes.
Helping them with homemade treats and gifts is a perfect way to teach them the meaning of Christmas and the importance of giving to others.
eanut butter and chocolate is one of my favorite combinations. Nick isn't a fan so I don't make things with peanut butter very often but during the holiday season I indulge! I know that most of the baking and things I'll be making will be heading out the door to friends and family, but I still get a taste (who am I kidding, I kept half a pan!) of these.
There's just something about the creamy peanut butter filling topped with a thick layer of chocolate. They're not safe in my house, I tell you! There's a reason I only make these peanut butter bars once a year
Peppermint patties are easy to make. Most of your time will be spent rolling and flattening the patties (and dipping them in chocolate!). But it's so worth the effort! (And they are freezer friendly.)
This recipe makes a really big batch so you'll have plenty for your family and lots to share as well!
