Delicious Brown Sugar Chops

The sweet and crispy pork chops I am going to introduce to you will convert you into someone who makes them in the oven! These tender and juicy chops are also sweet and unforgettable.

These amazing baked pork chops are also simple and quick! All you need to do is throw it together and give it a cook. Unlike other pork recipes, where there is much more time consumption and room for errors, you will find this one become a favorite in the ease department. If you are like me, you will love the melding of flavors with the sweetness and savory garlic flavor.

Beyond the flavor, these pork chops are also prepared properly. Gone are the days of dried out, tough pork chops! Who else has had the traumatic experience of eating a pork chop made wrong? For a while there, I thought pork chops were just not meant to be juicy and appetizing. It was not until I developed this recipe that I realized, if treated properly, pork chops can be quite tender and flavorful.

Delicious Brown Sugar Chops Ingredients

Chops – I prefer thick cut as thin cut meat is more prone to quickly drying out

Brown sugar – a vital ingredients in the sauce for its flavor

Soy and Worcestershire Sauce â€“ these are the two ingredients you do NOT want to swap

out! The combination works together for flavor, tender, and moisture for the chops. However, going for lower sodium options in the sauces does not hurt the recipe results.

Where Should I Cook My Chops?

In the oven is the best place to cook your pork chops! That may sound different than everything you have known about chops up to this point. Chops on the stovetop are also great, especially for monitoring the temp. However, oven baked pork chops require less attention and allow for a more even cooking experience for the meat.

What is the cooking time?

As with all slices of meat, the cooking time is highly dependent on the cut of the meat. A thick cut pork chop is naturally going to take longer because it is larger. A normal cut is around a half an inch thick. The half inch pork chop takes about thirty minutes in the oven. However, a cut that is thicker than that is going to take closer to forty minutes. In most meat markets or stores, you can ask for custom cuts of meat if you want to be sure. Otherwise, a meat thermometer is your best friend when it comes to cooking these pork chops.

What temperature do the pork chops need to be?

Pork is considered safe and done at 145F. Digital thermometers are quite accurate at giving you an exact temperature almost immediately. I do not recommend constantly checking the temperature (I try to do it only once near the end), because you do not want to let the heat out of the oven or the juices out of the chops.

Should I get boneless or boned chops?

Bone-in or no, it is up to you! The cut is also up to you, though thick is my favorite and the results are much more tender and steak-like. I feel that the bone-in pork chops can sometimes flake in cooking, so just be careful to not pull off some bone in your bites. Also take extra caution with children and any meat with bones or extra fattiness as it can be a choking hazard.

Also, always be safe and cook your pork to at least 145F. The temperature of 145 degrees Fahrenheit is the recommended safe temperature by the USDA. Depending on your cut of pork chop, you may end up with your meat being a little red. Trust me, this is perfectly fine. I know a few people who would not be interested in pink meat, but it is safe. Best of all, it is also quite amazing! I used to not eat meat unless it was completely browned, because I thought that meant that it was done. That simply is not the case with pork. Once I tried it a little pink, it was a game changer. It has been the same result for others I’ve made this recipe for too!
