Chicken and Bacon Brown Sugar Garlic

The perfect meal for any night of the week. A sweet, sticky and garlicky chicken meal that the whole family will love.  I can’t lie this recipe is pretty darn close to a couple of others that I have posted, however, there are some subtle differences.  That is why it has taken me so long to post this one for all of you.

I have kept this pretty simple with very few ingredients. There is more than enough flavor without the salt and pepper, I realize though, many people like the contrast between the sweet and then the salt.

It is not that there is a heavy enough salt taste that it will be noticed, but mentally people need to use salt and pepper.

Personally, I would love to have a touch more brown sugar and more garlic, but that is my taste buds. The family prefers it the way the recipe states.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Should I use a baking pan or a baking sheet?

Definitely use a baking pan. If you have one that is at least two inches in height on the sides, please use that. The sauce does tend to bubble up while cooking and then jump out over the edge to hit the floor of the oven and start smoking up the house. You do not want that.

How do I stop the sugar from burning while baking?

You do want to check the chicken for doneness at the 20 minute mark, then the 25 minute mark. If the sugar starts to darken, place aluminum foil over the pan and seal it tight. Then lower the temperature to allow the chicken to cook longer as needed.

Can I use my slow cooker to make this?

Definitely, I would use the low setting for the longer period of time. I worry about the sugar getting too well done.

            Can I add spice?

If your family likes spice, go ahead and add some red pepper flakes or even a drop or two of Sriracha Sauce.
