Teriyaki chicken is an Asian favorite for many people. You should not be afraid of making your own Teriyaki Sauce. It is not as intimidating as it seems. The best part about this Teriyaki sauce is that it can be used as both the marinade and the Teriyaki Sauce. There is no need to waste the marinade. Put it into a saucepan and bring it to a boil, then lower to a simmer. This process makes the sauce safe to use as a glaze or the sauce.
There are a few different ways that this recipe can be cooked. You can stir fry, cook it on the stove top, use your slow cooker or bake it in the oven. It is not going to matter how you cook it, it will taste the same. Serve it with extra sauce, sesame seeds and chopped green onions.
You can serve it with a side of Basmati rice, and serve it with steamed vegetables. You can use it to cover salads with (as the dressing) or slice the chicken pieces and serve it on a piece of flatbread or on a hard roll.
I serve this Teriyaki Chicken with a variety of options. Not the same and not all of them at the same time. We prefer to have lo mein on the side, along with a scoop of fried rice. I also like to have some beef and broccoli once in a while with the Teriyaki.
