Honey Mustard Glazed Pork Chops

I remember growing up, it seemed there was always some gravy or sauce of some kind on the dinner table. Mom always said it was there to add flavor, dad always teased her and said it was to cover up the taste!

Oh, the childhood memories can be so much fun! Since I have grown up and have a family of my own, I realize that the purpose of a good sauce or gravy is to make a boring piece of meat into an extraordinary piece of meat.

The example today, boring pork chops. They get roasted, baked, or fried and just look so bland sitting on the plate. Seeing them like this does not make one want to rush to eat. So it is time to liven it up. This honey mustard glaze will take those boring pork chops and send them over the top!

I wish I knew who decided to combine mustard and honey, I would love to shake their hand. It is such a unique combination of flavors that I would never have thought would work together. I do actually find myself making a small jar and keeping it in the refrigerator to use on many other food items. I love it on chicken, french fries and even dipping some vegetables into honey mustard. One other option I want to mention is that adding ¼ tsp of dill to the Honey Mustard takes it to another whole new level that you really need to try.

Frequently Asked Questions:

            Can I use boneless chops?

You certainly can, your baking time will vary a little without the bone in. The size of the chops will also make a difference in baking time.

            Is this an economical meal?

To make it even more economical, I usually watch for sales on the pork loin. This way, I can slice as thick as I want, and they end up being cheaper than buying a pack of pork chops as chops.

What can I serve with Honey Mustard Pork Chops?

I always go for some crispy, yet soft roasted potatoes and steamed green vegetables. I love the way the colors look together on the plate. However, Creating a simple pasta dish with linguine, garlic and butter, along with some roasted brussel sprouts can do the trick just as nicely.
