            This cookie is the perfection of candy and cookie combined. It is a chewy cookie that is full of color.

M&M cookies turn a boring day into one filled with smiles. Just the thought of one of these cookies for a snacktime treat is enough to put a smile on my face.

If you can find one that is similar, go ahead. You could use miniature Rolo, miniature Reese’s cups or even Reese’s candies.

            Can I use something other than chocolate chips?

You could use white chocolate chips, peanut butter chips or dark chocolate chips.

            Can I make this a healthy version?

Well, yes, instead of one egg use ½ cup of applesauce, 2 eggs equals 1 cup. Use sodium free butter. Cut back on the sugar or use a different type of sugar.

            Do I have to chill the dough?

Chilling the dough is the most important portion of these cookies.

What do you need to make M&M Cookies

            ¾ cup light brown sugar

            ½ cup granulated sugar

            1 cup butter, low salt and softened

            1 tsp baking soda

            2 tsp vanilla

            1 large egg

            2 ½ cups all purpose flour

            1 cup M&M candies

            1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

How to make M&M Cookies

FIRST STEP:

Whisk the flour and the baking soda in a bowl and set to the side

In a medium bowl, cream the butter

SECOND STEP:

Add in the brown sugar, the white sugar and the vanilla extract, beat well

Scoop 1 tbsp of dough and roll into a ball

Set 2 inches apart on the cookie tray

Bake for 8 to 10 minutes and cool on a baking rack
