This is one of those meals that takes very few ingredients, very little time to make it and will please the Scrooge of the dining room. This is also great for busy nights or when company comes around. Don’t get me wrong, I love to be busy, especially when it means it is running for school events and sports for the kids. However, having a moment to breathe is kind of nice also. It would be awesome to have the energy of the youngest kids.
By the time dinner rolls around, I am looking for some simple meals to make. This is one that really qualifies and the best part, everyone loves this meal. Anything with cheese makes for a pleasant meal in our house, when it is extra cheesy, that makes it even more so. Of course, I did me and made this into a super easy recipe. You can use fresh or frozen raviolis from your local market, or if you are ambitious, you could make your own.
This dish can be served with a simple side salad, and maybe some garlic cheese bread to keep the Italian theme. This might even be a good dish to make in the crockpot one day.
Then you can come home to a tasty smelling home. The method would be the same as in a conventional oven. Put the layers in and let it cook on low for 6 hours.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Seriously, noodles or sauce as the first layer?
Sauce! Always put the sauce down first, the noodles are less likely to stick to the pan.
Will I be rolling the lasagna noodles?
Nope! Seriously this is Ravioli, I would not fib about that. This is just a combination of two favorites in my house.
How long can I store this in the refrigerator?
If you place any that is left over into an airtight container, it will be good for up to 4 days.
Can I freeze this dish?
It can definitely be frozen. Once it has cooled completely, it can be placed into an airtight container, you can place it into the freezer for up to 3 months.
