Stuffed Peppers

Stuffed peppers always seem like they are such a fancy meal. Well, I am here to tell you that that is not true! You can make stuffed peppers for the entire family to enjoy. They seem like a daunting workload to make also.

You have to par-boil the peppers or pre bake them. Then you have to do so many other steps to get them to be exactly what you get at restaurants. I have a special treat for you! Yes, you will have to prebake the peppers, but you can do that while you are preparing the rest.

Remember, a recipe card is the basic list of ingredients. If you choose to substitute a different item, that is perfectly okay to do.

You need to make the dish as yours. You can prebake the peppers covered with foil so they do not brown before the actual stuffing takes place.

Frequently Asked Questions:

What color pepper should I use?

You can use any color you want. Green peppers are the typical pepper used in this dish. The red, yellow and orange peppers are a touch sweeter, which will create a slightly different taste.

            Can I use brown rice?

Absolutely! When you have a way to make a meal healthier, please go ahead and do so.

Can I change up the meat used?

You could change it to sausage, or a combination of sausage and ground beef.

Can I cook these in the slow cooker?

This would actually be a much easier method. You do not have to prebake the peppers if you are using a slow cooker. All you need to do is prepare the filling ahead, set the peppers in the slow cooker and spoon the stuffing inside the peppers. Sprinkle the cheese in the last 10 minutes.
