Tuna salad is a very light and refreshing type of salad. I love to make this one and have it in the refrigerator for those hot summer days.
You know the type, too hot to cook, and you want to eat, but it needs to be something chilled and filling.
This salad is the one. It is super flavorful, filling and super easy to throw together. I cannot lie, I tend to add pasta to this once in a while to make this even better, and more of a filling dinner.
I will usually serve this plain, sometimes on a bed of lettuce, and other times with just some crusty bread.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Can I make this ahead?
This is an ideal salad to make ahead of time. However, do not make it too far ahead of time, as the cucumbers will begin to soften up.
How should I store this?
This is best kept in the refrigerator covered tightly. It will last for 3 to 4 days before it starts to soften.
What should I serve this with?
As I stated, once in a while I will serve it on a bed of crispy lettuce. This also keeps the calories and carbohydrates down. Other times, I serve it as is, plain and delicious, and other times, I grab a loaf of my favorite crusty bread and slice some up and place a spoonful of salad on the bread and eat it that way.
Can I freeze this salad?
Although there is not much to this as far as vegetales, the ones that are in here, will have a slight texture difference after freezing. I, personally, would avoid freezing.
