Wendy’s CopyCat Frosty Ice Cream

The iconic Wendy’s frosty. That one cup that can cause such a stir in my family. I order them small and they scream for large sizes. I had always wondered what makes the frosty so special versus any other chocolate milkshake. It was a tough one, but I nailed it!

My kids do not scream to go to Wendy’s anymore, now they like to stay home and grill burgers and have Mom’s Frosty’s! I tell you it is such a great feeling to know a parent can change a kid’s mind like that.

This frosty recipe is actually quite simple. And, it will likely surprise you when you see just how simple it was to copycat this one.

I did break down here and insert the newest version of the frosty, well at least the copycat floating around the internet. However, I must say that I also included the original frosty recipe here and personally, that one is my favorite! It just tastes like the frosty is supposed to taste. The new version is awesome, however, I am a creature of habit.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Am I going to need a big, fancy ice cream machine?

Absolutely not! All you are going to need is a blender.

I heard they have a new recipe for the frosty now, is that  true?

It is, and I will include both here. However, the original one is not recommended if you prefer the taste of what they have for sale now.

Original:

8 ounces Cool Whip whipping cream

            ½ gallon chocolate milk

            1 can Sweetened Condensed milk

Mix all together in the blender or with a hand mixer, freeze if desired. It will not freeze solid, this will stay the consistency of a milkshake.
