Christmas Crack Recipe

The Holidays are right around the corner now. I have been putting together the list of what treats I plan to make for different events this year and of course for the spread at our own house.

This recipe today is one that I had always wanted to try, but honestly was afraid that the family was not going to like it. After all, Saltine crackers are not a treat are they?

In themselves, no, I would not consider saltines to be a treat. Well, for me they are, I love to munch on buttered saltines. They make the perfect lunch in my opinion.

Anyways, I decided to try this recipe out ahead of time and not say anything to my family. I just wanted to see how they reacted. Well, I can say that I was pleasantly surprised. This Christmas Crack is definitely on my list now.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Can I use Ritz crackers instead of Saltines?

There really is not a whole large difference between the crackers, so if you would like to, go ahead and try it. I prefer saltines mainly because when I lay them on the tray, there are no large gaps between the crackers.

            Could I use graham crackers?

Honestly! This is a fabulous switch! My family absolutely loves it this way.

How do I store this treat?

This can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks or in the freezer for up to four months. Simply place it in an airtight container with a sheet of parchment paper in between each layer.

Do I have to use sprinkles on top?

You can add any variety of toppings that you want or leave it plain. I have also melted white chocolate and marbled it on the top.
