CopyCat Chili From Wendy’s

Now, I need to say that this is not an exact copy cat recipe. However, it is as close as any recipe I have tried. I took the best from what I have seen, what I have tasted and put them all together in this one recipe.

This chili is one of the top requested foods from any fast food restaurant. It is time to learn this recipe so you can have it as often as you would like.

I am not much of a chili eater, at least not until winter. Then I could eat chili virtually every day. This chili is loaded with flavor from all the good stuff. Ground beef, kidney beans, bell peppers, onions and of course, tomatoes!

A touch of spicy chili powder and a dash of cumin and I swear you would think you are actually eating at the restaurant.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Can I make this in the slow cooker?

You can! Brown the ground beef first and then mix it all together in the slow cooker. Cook it on low for 6 to 8 hours or on high for 4 hours.

            Can I use sausage?

You could use a combination of sausage and ground beef, I cannot vouch for how the flavor will change the chili.

Does adding butter help the heat?

Add a little butter at the end of the cooking, this will help the texture and also lower the spice a touch.

The Recipe states to simmer, can I cook it on a higher temp?

When you cook food on too high of a temperature, the food will cook differently. It will also end up looking different.

Can I eat this on a gluten free diet?

Yes, this copycat recipe is gluten free.

What can I serve with this chili?

I prefer to serve it with my jalapeno cornbread. It could also be served with regular cornbread. You can top it with sour cream and green onions. Saltine crackers, oyster crackers are always enjoyable with a bowl of chili.

Can I serve this over noodles?

Turning this into a pot of chili mac is a great idea! I make elbow macaroni or bowtie pasta when we have leftover chili.
