This is by far the easiest recipe I have come across in my lifetime for Cordon Bleu. Using refrigerated crescent roll dough, this meal is prepared and baked in a short time. Fall has definitely arrived in my area, the heater has been turned on slightly and I am in the midst of searching for the best comfort food recipes that I can share with you all. The catch is I want comfort food, but I also want quick and easy meals that are filling and taste delicious.
Everyday brings another round of the Mom Taxi, after school activities, sports, errands, shopping, you name it! So yeah, I want simple recipes that taste super good. The best benefit of this recipe is that they can be eaten on the run.
There is no muss, no fuss to really speak of. I have not heard a single complaint when making these for dinner. I am going to put my brain into overdrive for the next bit of time and see what else I can make in this manner. I am sure there will be many variations suggested by you awesome readers.
Right now I am thinking of Ruebens, Cheeseburgers and BLTs. Stay tuned, you never know what is coming next out of my brain.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Can I use leftover chicken?
You can definitely use up the chicken you have. I, sometimes, grill up a couple chicken breasts for this meal, or I will roast them in the oven. This is not to say that I am not also known for buying a quick rotisserie chicken from the local market.
How do I store these?
These can be kept in a tightly closed container in the refrigerator, if there are any left over. They can also be wrapped tightly in plastic wrap.
Do these really taste like Cordon Bleu?
This may not be an exact copy as far as taste, but it does taste like Chicken Cordon Bleu. My family loves this recipe and never complains about it. These do not look the same, but again, made this way, they are portable and easy to eat on those nights we are running like crazy.
