Here is a breakfast idea for those super busy times in life, or when you have a houseful of overnight guests. I actually had these at a friend’s home the morning of the day she got married. I could not believe it when I was told the few ingredients in these breakfast sandwiches. I have since made these many times and my family and I enjoy them each time.
Crescent rolls taste so good on their own, but pair it with sausage and cream cheese, and it is a hit! I am surprised Gordon Ramsey has not made these! Of course, those in the southern United States already know about these delicious breakfast sandwiches.
This dish can be made as individual sandwiches or put together in a 9×13 baking pan. This makes it even easier to fix this meal.
So whenever you need a quick and easy meal to feed a hungry crew that has just woken up, make this for them. They will be so happy they got out of bed.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Can I use ground pork?
Ground pork is simply ground pork. You want pork sausage. The sausage has been seasoned with spices to make it a different taste.
Could I use pizza dough?
I am sure that you could use pizza dough if you were making this as a dinner item. Pizza dough has a completely different flavor than crescents. Plus, it is also a much thicker and heavier dough. For this breakfast dish, I really recommend using crescent roll dough.
How do I store this dish?
If there are any leftovers, be sure that it is completely cooled. Wrap it tightly with plastic wrap or aluminum foil. It will be good for up to 3 days in the refrigerator.
Can I freeze this?
If you put this into individuals serving dishes, cover them with airtight lids or tightly in plastic wrap and aluminum foil. They will last in the freezer for 1 month.
