How To Make Tequila Margarita Balls

            This recipe  reiterates that you can have a Margarita and eat it too! This is truly a delightful treat to share with your friends. They are cake balls filled with alcohol and provide a cure to the sweet tooth.

They are really easy to make and it will actually appear that you have spent tons of time on them. Be careful how many you eat around your friends, they just may find out how easy they really are.

There are seriously hundreds of recipes for “Booze Balls” . This is the one, that after much serious consideration and taste testing, we decided was the best flavored and made us happy.

Go ahead and try the others if you want, you will come back to this one. I did and so did my friends and family. Twist it up and make it what you want it to be.

The recipe calls for vanilla wafers, can I change that?

I do believe that there are other flavors available at some locations. You will have to see what is available.

I had this recipe once using a cake mix, why change?

This is slightly lower in carbohydrates, this one does not call for frosting either, so less sugar.

Do I have to use Tequila?

No! I am not forcing anyone to partake in alcohol. However, you can change it up to brandy or whisky if you like that better. I have heard that some people have even avoided alcohol completely and used fruit juice. I have not tried that, so I cannot vouch for it.

What Ingredients Do You Need For Tequila Margarita Balls

            12 ounces of Vanilla flavored Wafers

            2 tbsp light corn syrup

            ¼ cup Tequila

            4 ounces white chocolate chips

            2 cups almond flour

            ¼ cup orange marmalade

            Squeeze of Fresh lime juice

            Sugar for rolling, white, green yellow or blue

How To Make Tequila Margarita Balls

First Step:

Crush the vanilla wafers into a fine crumb

Combine the vanilla wafer crumbs and the almond flour in a mixing bowl

Second Step:

Melt the white chocolate chips and add to the dry mix

Add in the orange marmalade, corn syrup, lime juice and the Tequila into the mixing bowl

Beat on high until everything is combined well

Roll the dough into 1 inch sized balls and set them on a cookie tray lined with parchment paper

Third Step:

Take each ball and roll it into a bowl of sugar and place back on the tray.

This is when you will melt candy melts of whatever color your would like and drizzle lightly over the lined up and sugared balls

Once the drizzled candy melt dries, set the balls on a serving platter or cake stand and serve.

You can spritz a little Tequila over the tops, but only very lightly. Too much and the balls may fall apart.

Tips and Tricks:

            These little balls of sweetness and yum can be rolled in white granulated sugar, or any color of granulated sugar.

            I used a little lime zest on the top of the batch I made, I melted some green candy melts and drizzled lightly over the Margarita Balls after they were rolled in sugar.
