We all love a good Philly Cheesesteak sandwich right? I am going to throw a recipe for a philly sandwich that is super easy to make, super tasty and even downright adorable. These make a great dish to bring to parties or picnics, potlucks or celebrations.
Since the inception of sliders, there have been an overwhelming amount of recipes for the different types. I am guilty of that also. I try to get the new trends out as quickly as I hear about them, but sometimes it does not matter.
These cute little sandwiches have all the flavor of the full size sandwich, but are much smaller and easily carried with you if you are mingling with guests.
The sandwich includes thinly sliced steak, preferably ribeye steak, provolone cheese and fried onions and peppers. Very simple!
Frequently Asked Questions:
Can I use a different cheese?
I normally use provolone cheese, but in this recipe I switched it up for mozzarella. You can use either one you prefer.
What kind of steak should I use?
The steak used is usually a ribeye steak. However, skirt steak works just as well/
How do I cut the steak?
Two options here, you can ask the store meat department to cut it for you, or you can do it yourself. I just freeze the meat slightly and then cut very thin slices.
Do I need to use peppers?
Many people leave the peppers out of the sandwich. I believe wholeheartedly that it is not a true Philly without the peppers. You can leave them off if you prefer.
The mushrooms are another one of those items you have the choice of. Honestly, I prefer my Philly Steak Sliders to have all the flavors of the onion, mushroom and the peppers. I will also use Provolone more often than I use mozzarella. Taste is what matters when you cook. If you do not like the taste, you would not eat it. So, please make these tasty gems the way you want them. This recipe is a base for it.
