If you have roughly one half hour, I am going to help you combine two American favorites together in one dish. This recipe will give you pizza along with a burger and it may even bring back memories from your childhood, as it does mine. My mom used to make something similar to this during summer Holidays or for potlucks and also for the times that us kids would have friends over for the night. I remember on the Fourth of July, we would have the family on both sides and have a huge celebration.
My mom and aunts would work together and make a bunch of these for all of us starving children and men! No, we were not starving, but we all acted like it!
I have changed the recipe a little, including another family favorite of sloppy joes. So imagine if you can, one sandwich that combines all three! I then place the finished product on an english muffin to make it an open faced sandwich.
My mouth is watering as I write this. I can’t help but imagine all those flavors combined. Deliciously delightful!
Frequently Asked Questions:
Can I use sandwich bread?
You can substitute sandwich bread or hamburger buns in place of the english muffins
Can I leave the pepperoni sliced?
You do not have to chop the pepperoni. I do it because it makes it easier when scooping onto the muffin.
Can I use pizza sauce instead of tomato soup?
You certainly can! If you use actual pizza sauce, then eliminate the Italian seasoning from the recipe.
How many sandwiches will this recipe make?
This recipe will make 8 open faced pizza burger sandwiches.

Notes
You can use garlic salt in place of the garlic powder.
You could put a little cheese on the english muffin before you put it under the broiler the first time.
I have received messages that using a slice of mozzarella on the top of each muffin works wonderfully, and tends to hold the meat mix in place.
