            1 small Onion, diced

            2 Potatoes, Russet, diced

            1 pound ground Beef

            2 carrots, peeled and diced

            4 Garlic Cloves, freshly minced

            ½ tsp Oregano

            1 tsp Cumin

            1 bay leaf

            ½ cup Peas, frozen

            1 ½ cups Beef Broth

            8 ounces Tomato Sauce

How to make Classic Mexican Picadillo Recipe

FIRST STEP:

In a skillet over medium high heat, crumble and brown the ground beef

Season with salt and pepper if desired

Add in the onions, potatoes and carrots

Cook until the vegetables are beginning to soften and the meat is no longer pink

SECOND STEP:

Stir in the beef broth and tomato sauce

Add in the Bay leaf, cumin and oregano

Bring the mix to a simmer

Cover and cook for 10 minutes

Remove the cover and stir in the peas

Cover and cook until the potatoes and carrots are soft

THIRD STEP:

Serve with Rice or wrapped in Tortillas
