            2 cups sugar

            4 cups flour

            2 ½ cups Butter, cubed

            ½ tsp ground ginger

            ¼ tsp cloves

            ½ tsp Cinnamon

            ½ tsp nutmeg

            1 cup PLUS 2 tbsp Buttermilk

            1 ¼ tsp baking soda

            2 Eggs

            ½ cup Powdered Sugar (for garnish)

FIRST STEP:

Preheat the oven to 350*

Liberally grease a 9×13 inch baking pan

Add the flour and the sugar to a large bowl

Cut in the butter cubes with the flour and sugar

Reserve 2 cups of this mixture, set to the side

In the same bowl, combine the remaining ingredients and beat together
