Orchard Toys Educational Games For Children Review

Orchard Toys began over forty years ago with the owners manufacturing and shipping their products direct from their kitchen table in England. Today, Orchard Toys ships fun educational games and puzzles to over fifty countries worldwide.

They are well known for manufacturing high-quality toys specifically designed to improve children’s learning abilities. We’ve been using Orchard Toys for almost a decade now and don’t have a bad word to say about the brand.

The products are relatively affordable (plenty of them are available for less than $15/£10) and there’s currently plenty of fantastic free resources available from their website.

We’re incredibly excited to be working with Orchard Toys on this review. As always all opinions are our own. Be sure to enter the competition below for your chance to win some Orchard Toys games of your own.

Rainbow Unicorns

Rainbow Unicorns has two ways to play. For younger children, you can use the set as a matching game. Meanwhile, for older children, you can use the set as a full game.

In the game, players take turns to pick up tail cards and match them to their unicorn heads.

For every unicorn, they successfully match they move one step closer to winning the magical pot of gold at the end of the rainbow!

The game features friendly unicorn characters and a rainbow playing board that children will love.

Rainbow Unicorns is recommended for ages 3-5 and is suitable for between 2 and 4 players.

In the box, you get a rainbow playing board which is constructed using 3 large jigsaw pieces, 4 unicorn playing pieces with stands, 50 cards, and one pot of gold card.

Rainbow Unicorns is a great game for developing matching skills and memory skills, and for younger children, it can also help with developing colour recognition.

Shopping List

Shopping List is Orchard Toys best selling game and has been for over five years now.

It only takes 10 minutes of playing this game together to work out why.

The game is suitable for children between the ages of 3 and 7 and is suitable for between 2 and 4 players.

The contents of the game include; 2 shopping baskets, 2 trollies and 4 shopping lists. There are 32 items in total on the lists and each has a corresponding card to place in your basket or trolly.

Shopping List is a game designed to help develop matching skills, observation skills and memory skills.

The bright colours and simple packaging make the game incredibly engaging and super easy to store which is great!

Speed Spelling

Spelling practice is made fun with this simple yet highly engaging game!

Speed Spelling is suitable for children between the ages of 5 and 8 and can be played with between 2 and 4 players.

Players take turns to spell words before the timer runs out.

If the timer runs out while children are spelling a word then they will have to pass it on to the next player to complete it.

My children really enjoyed racing against the timer and pinching words from other players!

If your children are slightly younger then you may want to adapt the game and play without the timer to allow them to simply concentrate on spelling the word.
